The RTFM department of KC Computer Services is where all user enquiries and questions are answered. We are proud of our unparalleled user support record and take extreme pride in never having failed to answer satisfactorily all user questions and provide the utmost assistance in installing software, repairing hardware, getting modems working and configuring just about every piece or software presented to us whether or not directly Internet related.
To date our greatest challenge has been assisting a user with a 1983 vintage Dynabyte Z80 based computer with twin 180K eight inch floppy drives, 32K of ram, and running CP/M 1.4 operating system, to get Windows 95 completely installed, configure the latest version of Netscape and design a special serial port (RS449) on veroboard so that a 33K6 modem could be connected to his system. This whole exercise took less than 2 months and only involved four of our staff (two assembler programmers, one hardware design engineer and a university student in his final year of study into mystical miracles research and the bible supplemented by the lastest copy of Dick Smith Electronics catalogue).
"This level of support is what users of KCCS have come to expect for their $19/month subscription fee" said David Dix, the system admin of KCCS's internet services. He continued to say that anything less would not be playing the game fairly as the only alternative would be to expect internet users to have some knowledge of computers, software and use of the Internet and this is an unrealistic expectation for any New Zealand ISP.For further information and an exhaustive list of the support facilities that are provided by KCCS plus countless testimonials from ecstatic users please press the Help key on your Sun keyboard. (the Help key is just below the Sun logo in the topleft hand corner). If your Sun keyboard is a model with the edit keys then please press Stop and A keys together, this will stop this text and take you straight to section A of the support documentation.
