New MDDS connections in June

24 June 1997

There have been several new connections to KC in May and June.
A new 64K MDDS was installed to MEC Distributors in Newmarket. This uses one timeslot in KC's stacked wideband DDS. At MEC a 3Comm router manages the MDDS link and supports STAC compression (also supported by KC's Cisco 4500)
A new 64K DDS link to Warkworth PlaNet, a new ISP. This also uses one timeslot from KC's SWDDS and at Warkworth a PC running Linux with a New Technologies 64K sync serial controller controls that end of the DDS.
This ISP is effectively set up with just one Pentium PC that controls the DDS link, four modems, PPP logins, usenet news and email services.
